So yesterday was the 2nd half of Audriannas IEP meeting they had to split the meeting in two since We hadn't really finsihed ours and they had another IEP scheduled after ours. So we went over the goals for audrianna which the teachers pretty much came up with. They base it on what they would like to see happen over a 1-5 period.
The Team would like to see Audrianna:

* Become a more effective communicator
* Navigate her school environment safely.
* Increase her fine motor skills
* Increase her attention to preferred and non-preferred tasks( That's gonna be a tough one since she has a very little attention span)

Speech and language goal focus
What student can currently do?
Audrianna's receptive language skills felt to be age appropriate at this time. Expressive language skills reported at the 17 month level. She uses the combination of word approximations, gestures, signs and some pictures to indicate her wants and needs. Audrianna is able to label some pictures and objects with single word approximations (i.e. "der/girl) Consonant-vowel combinations are heard within 2 syllable productions. She vocalizes to indicate happy and sad. She is able to respond, request (through gestures, pictures and vocalizing), refuse (although not always appropriately), direct ( through pointing and vocalizing) and label ( using word approximations) with her current communication system. Audrianna is easily distracted by both visual and auditory stimuli.
Measurable Annual Goal
What challenging, yet attainable, goal can we expect the student to meet by the end of this IEP period?
Audrianna will convey thoughts in order to communicate with others through use of total communication to include verbal attempts, signs, gestures, pictures and voice output in 4 out of 5 opportunities
