Since charlee had an Early Intervention evaluation today. It was pretty much paperwork but since we did go through Early Intervention with Audrianna that will be todays topic.
alot of kids with disabilities not just cerebral palsy go through a program called Early Intervention. early intervention services are specialized health, educational, and therapeutic services designed to meet the needs of infants and toddlers, from birth through age two, who have a developmental delay or disability, and their families. At the discretion of each State, services can also be provided to children who are considered to be at-risk of developing substantial delays if services are not provided.
Audrianna had her first Evaluation at 5 months old, and she started Early Intervention pretty soon afterwards. At first we started receiving just Physical Therapy Services and then it slowly started to build up till Audrianna was finally getting Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy. If it wasnt for all that and Stephen and Myself working very hard with Audrianna she would not have come as far as she has today. Thanks to Early Intervention Audrianna was able to get different equipment to help her with everyday things. She had a corner chair to help her with her posture and sitting up straight and tall, a walker to help her get around, A theratog suit , she had kineseo taping done which was very interesting. Audrianna Adored her therapists we worked with Kate on speech, Danielle for occupational therapy, Kiersten for Physical Therapy, And Charlee was our case worker she came once or twice a month to see how we were coping. Charlee also helped make the adjustment to preschool easy.
We have missed them all very very much and have stopped in to say hi a few times so I was excited to find out they will be working with Charlee when she has her actual evaluation on the 16th of this month. Yup very very exciting.
