Casts off round One

First off I hpe everyone had an amazing Easter. We had a pretty good Easter Audrianna also turned 5 Yesterday Yay for turning 5. We spent the morning at my moms I figured we culd try and see how it would go cause it was only a few hours. Then we came home cause Audrianna and I were both tired and cranky and Audriannas home nurse had to work yes even tho it was easter. So we came home relaxed on the couch for a half hour til the nurse got here. And then we got ready for a BBQ with a few friends while Audrianna went for a walk with her nurse. But yeah all was well and audrianna was asleep by 8pm. i will post some easter pictures later.

So Today was our follow up in Boston and a big Day for Audrianna she was getting her first round of casts off. She was such a sport even tho the saw pretty much traumatized her she screamed and cried before the orthotics guy even came near her with the saw. But once the casts were off she was pretty happy. She didnt want her knee imbolizers off kinda funny cause shes been begging for them to come off. It was kinda cute. We did notice a big difference when her casts came off besides the dead and peeling skin that on her heels and her toes nuttin some really good lotion wont fix. anyways her feet were flat woohooo no more ballerina on toes stance. The dr said one of her legs is stil a little tighter then the other one but that was to be expected since it was the leg that was super tight anyways. I was just so happy that she now can sit on a bed, or the couch with her feet flat. Then the brace specialist came in and sized her for new leg braces. Shes getting solid afo/hinged. They will be hinged but the hinge part will be locked til the dr is ready for them to be used unlocked, The casts she has on now will be off in 2 weeks and those casts will be made into bivalve casts for at night time. She sat perfectly still and cooperated really well with the brace guy and then the orthotics guy when she got molded for braces and then when she was recasted thats a pretty long time for her to sit still I wanna say it was about a half hr all together if not more.
She gets to start back at school tommorow yeah i think 4 weeks away from school was long enough and she gets to start some pt at school we have drs instructions on whats to be allowed during PT. Shes also allowed to have her knee imbolizers off for transportation and PT. Im gonna be bringing her to and from school for the next 2 weeks til she finally gets her casts off. She goes back the 19th which is the start of school vacation pretty kool. Once thats all done we will plan a date for her bday party I wanted to wait til she had her casts off and she could be up and moving around. anyways heres some pictures.
